Why will Simulations be the best way to learn?

Traditional “Chalk and Talk” method of training is as good as a gramophone in the era of iPods. Most of us have attended lectures to learn, and anyone who has can vouch for its ineffectiveness. The defense and aviation space has always embraced Simulations as their most favored method of upskilling. Rightly so, as the cost of failure is extremely high and only Simulations can give you a sense of risk and skill levels.
How different is the business environment? Yes, the cost of failure unlike in defense and aviation does not cost lives, but it certainly dents the business in ways that the business can never imagine. Since 2010, there has been an increase in Simulation adoption in Corporate Training. Training throughout is something most organizations refused to acknowledge as a problem because it was high and they were unable to spot the root cause. Employee mortality (borrowing from a medical term for effect) between 1-6 months is the highest in most organizations, which in turn is affecting bottom-line and front line salaries because organizations have started planning for failure.
Simulations ensure the time taken to acquire a skill is reduced without compromising on the effectiveness. Simulations are possibly the best assessment mechanism there is to get a sense of skill levels before an employee starts production. Test papers fail to capture skills, it certainly can tell if someone is knowledgeable or not.
